Saffron

The dried red stigmas of the Crocus sativus flower, rich in the compounds crocin, safranal, and picrocrocin. Saffron extracts are studied in two distinct directions: mood, and (in certain standardized preparations) appetite, where research has examined reduced snacking and the sensation of fullness between meals. At supplement doses it adds no meaningful calories and does not break a fast.
